Rufus “Rufio” Rodriquez

Rufus “Rufio” Rodriquez, a Phoenix native, is a dancer and choreographer currently in his 5th season with Scorpius Dance Theatre and Epik Dance Company. In his six years as a professional dancer he has worked with Gravity Jazz Dance Theater, WNBA Phoenix Mercury, NBA Phoenix Suns, AZ Rattlers and the Phoenix Opera (soloist in the production AIDA). Rufus also performed in LA Carnival in works by Leslie Scott, Jojo Diggs and Kobi Rosenfeld and choreographed for music videos for M.C. Magic and Sofia Maria as well as the Suns and the Mercury hip hop squads and junior hip hop squads. Rufus has taught many students in high schools in Arizona and Wisconsin through guest teaching, master classes and workshops and was a guest artist at Arizona State University. He assisted at top studios in Los Angeles including The EDGE Performing Arts Center and Debbie Reynolds Studio. He taught monthly workshops in a variety of styles, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, waacking/punking and modern. He currently teaches classes for Scorpius Dance and at Abby Bella Dance studio in Phoenix.
