Ruth Doering
Ruth Doering was a scholarship student at George Balanchine’s School of American Ballet. She joined the New York City Ballet and Ballet Theater where she worked with Mr. Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Agnes DeMille and other outstanding choreographers. For many years she appeared on weekly television shows as a featured dancer where she also assisted choreographer Ernest Flatt. Her teachers during her television years included, Matt Mattox, Luigi and Charles Weidman She appeared on Broadway in a revival of “Annie Get Your Gun.” and did featured dance roles in Summer Theater in Oklahoma, Brigadoon, Carousel and Song of Norway. Also assisted Carol Haney. Dancers in Broadway shows came to her classes in New York City. Ruth taught at The Harkness School, in New York, Imperial Studios in Palm Beach Florida. She has been teaching here in Scottsdale for the past 7 years during which time she has also been a guest teacher at Principa College in Elsah Illinois (Might want to add that with her partner Hal Loman danced for a President of the United States.)
